Internet is limited at LanSmash just to allow Steam traffic and some basic game authentication. If you need to browse the web we suggest either tethering your mobile phone or see the admin desk where a terminal is available for public use.

Mumble is a free and simple in-game voice system that let's you chat in and outside games. LanSmash runs a Mumble server for you to chat in that also doubles as a voice-over system.

If you are launching a game and find it's taking too long to update you are in luck! We make fresh backups of most steam games for you to install that will be quicker then re-downloading of the internet.

To install a Steam game simply…

• Step 1: Uninstall your game. Right click on the game and delete local content
• Step 2: Find the backup file. Browse to \\techdrive\steambackups
• Step 3: Run the Install file

These are the latest Steam Backups compressed and ready for your download! Simply download, UNZIP, and then run the steambackup.exe under Disk_1.

TechDrive is an open share to upload and download files from. You can access it either from windows sharing at \\techdrive\uploadz or ftp://techdrive/ .

Since windows file sharing slow's down the gaming network we've limited windows sharing connectivity and created a Direct Connect hub. To join this hub you'll need a Direct Connect client.
